Overview

As part of my role, I serve as the project manager of Florida’s digital repository, and provide oversite and leadership on projects dealing with the virtual teaching, learning, and student service mission of the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC). Recent projects include digital and open textbook and materials surveys, modernization of the FLVC’s statewide Course and Degree Program Catalog, the development of the Proctored Testing Center database, and competency based learning. My areas of expertise include instructional design, distance learning, instructional and information technology, open educational resources, open textbooks, and faculty training.

Provide project leadership for The Orange Grove, Florida’s educational digital repository.
Provide instructional design leadership in the development of training and resources to support FLVC virtual learning initiatives.
Conduct research to measure the effectiveness of virtual teaching and learning practices, use of open and commercial educational resources, and the viability of new instructional models across the Florida College and University System.
Consult with educators, vendors and other organizations for the delivery of professional development and support services to Florida’s institutions, faculty and staff. These include instructional strategies, effective tools and techniques, or new technologies that will enhance instruction and student support.
Assist the Distance Learning & Student Services (DLSS) Director in the development policy briefs, analyses, research and annual reports pertaining to virtual learning and student services.
Communicate DLSS issues with Council members, faculty, legislative staff, and the public through statewide system level meetings, presenting at conferences, webinars, and social networks.
Coordinate with Library Services and FLVC Council Members regarding DLSS OER initiatives, Council member needs for OER service delivery, initiatives, and student accessibly of the resources.
Maintain DLSS social network communication.
