High quality instructional resources, such as textbooks, multimedia, interactive chunks of content, or entire courses, are costly and time consuming to develop. Enid Wohlstein and I discussed how our state OER repositories are collaborating to increase OER access and usage by utilizing EQUELLA federating and harvesting capabilities for the sharing of our digital repository content. Educators who utilize OER resources report higher personal satisfaction after they customize open content; students are more engaged.

eLearning
Feb. 17-20, 2007
Albuquerque, New Mexico

Sherry Piezon and I had the pleasure of presenting at the eLearning 2007 conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This was an excellent conference and one which I would recommend to anyone interested in distance learning instruction and technlology. Having the opportunity to share ideas with other attendees about current instructional technologies, academic projects, and teaching experiences were invaluable. Our presentation focused on the technical and planning aspects of creating and administering an educational vodcasts, and presented a case study on Sherry’s Aviation Trainer Vlog. If you are interested in a closer examination of our presentation, a PDF file of the presentation has been attached.

Charlotte, NC

This was co-presented with Sherry Piezon. The focus of our presentation was a proposed model that would assist faculty and instructional designers in formulating and facilitating online groups. This conference provided us with a wealth of ideas for including new and innovative technology into both face-to-face and distance learning instruction. If you are interested in a closer examination of our presentation, a PDF file of the presentation has been attached. The vendor participation was outstanding.

Distance Learning Association (DLA)
Jekyll Island, GA
June 5-8, 2005

This was the first time Sherry Piezon and I had the opportunity to co-present a presentation. We quickly realized that we work well together! This presentation was an overview of the psycho-social aspects of social loafing and free riding in a traditional and distance learning environment and distance learning administrative issues related to providing support to instructors to address the cited antecedents are discussed. The DLA is an excellent conference for administrators, instructors, and staff! If you are interested in a closer examination of our presentation, a flash file of the presentation has been attached.
